Guide to Taking Measurements

Guide to Taking Measurements

In our workshop, meticulous design begins with accurate measurements.
Taking measurements is the crucial step in ensuring that the garment’s construction respects the body’s anatomy and the tailor’s intent.

Please note: Each item is made exclusively to order.

For this reason, once purchased, the item cannot be returned.

We therefore ask that you follow these guidelines carefully.

When selecting shapewear, the size is determined by the intersection of two specific values listed in the chart:

  • Underbust (a numerical value based on anatomical measurements)
  • Cup size (A, B, C… where B corresponds to the standard underbust measurement, while A and C represent smaller and larger sizes, respectively, compared to the standard underbust measurement)

If your measurements fall between two sizes, prioritize the underbust and waist measurements to ensure proper structural fit.

If you are unsure or need assistance during the process, we are here to guide you.

To proceed, you will need a soft measuring tape, and it may be helpful to check your measurements in a mirror.

The tape measure should lie flat against your body without compressing the skin or leaving any slack. Overlap the ends at the point where they meet to determine the exact measurement.

During each measurement, the tape measure must remain strictly parallel to the floor.

We recommend taking measurements on bare skin or while wearing thin underwear (a bra with NON-padded cups) so as not to alter the actual measurements.

TECHNICAL MEASUREMENTS

  • Bust Circumference: Measure at the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape measure horizontal along the shoulder blades.
  • Underbust Circumference: Place the tape measure exactly at the base of the bust. This is the key measurement for structural stability.
  • Waist Circumference: Measure at the narrowest point of the abdomen (generally just above the navel).
  • Hip Circumference: Measure at the widest point of the hips.
